This courthouse burned in and was replaced the next year by the current structure. This Historic Revival style building was completed in and remained a Jr. High until when it was restored for community use by the City of Carrollton. Through efforts of the Carroll County Historical Society this historic old school was saved from the wrecking ball.

Once used for basketball games and community dances, it continues to be a place for community gatherings and class reunions. It is now called the WPA building.
